GameAccess Blog for SpecialEffect

SpecialEffect approached me to work with them to create a new hub for all of their video and written tutorial and help content.

The breif was to build a fully accessible and responsive site to allow fast access to valuable resources for those who need them.

The site is built on top of a WordPress 5 back-end using Gutenberg editor and features a custom gutenberg block ro allow the addition of transcripts ot embedded videos. The theme is fully bespoke and includes accessbility features such as text resizing, light / dark mode switch and inverted colours option.

Due to the volume of content being created, the site needed to employ a powerful filtering and search mechanism, this was based on facet-wp but was heavily customised to meet the client’s requirements.

The Pollen Basket (BBKA Shop)

As part of the BBKA responsive re-design, we suggested that it would be a good idea to re-design their shop to match the responsive theme, but give it it’s own identity.

Working with the team at Whiteroom, we have managed to put together a shop which both serves a purpose and looks impressive, encompassing a large amount of bespoke functionality and linking to the BBKA membership database using custom built plug-ins.

The site was built using WordPress, WooCommerce and Foundation. The site can be viewed at www.bbka.org.uk/shop
